Design
Like any true sports car, the Porsche 718 Cayman has an ergonomic design, keeping minimal space between the most important controls. The tachometer is centered in the front with the color display just to its right for easily sighted vehicle information.
In the center stack, a touchscreen infotainment center takes the stage, providing the element of luxury and comfort that sports car makers don’t always consider.
This two-seater coupe features 2-way leather-trimmed seats in a sporty style meant to cradle the body during more extreme turns. You are further wrapped in this sporty luxury with a trim of gloss-black, textile door pulls, and door sill plates with a T-badged design.
Performance
Performance is where it’s at for the 2019 Porsche 718 Cayman. Improvements to this year’s model are easily felt, creating a ride that is smoother, more stable, and tighter.
The first change was to the engine. It was upgraded to a 2.0L 300-horsepower 40-cylinder engine, giving it stronger acceleration and more power.
Due to the rear-wheel drivetrain and even weight distribution between the front back, you’ll notice more stability, sharper and quicker turning, and better handling than any previous model of the 718 Cayman.
The stiffer damper settings and adjusted suspension mean that there’s far more control during aggressive driving and quick maneuvering. Add this to the electromechanical steering, and larger brakes offer the ultimate responsive sports car.
