Porsche unveiled its first electric vehicle.
A true electric sports car.
Let’s take a look at it.
Porsche has announced the name of its first full-electric sports car during the official celebration of the anniversary “70 years Porsche sports car” – Taycan. The name translates as “lively young horse”, referencing the center of the Porsche crest.”
Our new electric sports car is athletic and performance-oriented; a car that is capable of longer distances, and represents freedom”, explains Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche AG.
Here comes the first electric sports car with the soul of a Porsche.
Is It Time to Get Your Porsche’s Oil Changed?
One of the most important aspects of regular car maintenance is getting your oil changed. You already know this if you’re a Porsche owner — it’s an even more essential ritual when you drive a car with such precision engineering. It’s recommended that you consult your Porsche Owner’s Manual for details on your car’s maintenance schedule, but if you notice any of the following, you should consider bringing your car in for immediate service.
Does Your Porsche Need an Oil Change?
Check engine or oil change lights come on
The easiest way to determine if your oil needs to be changed is to look at your dashboard for the check engine or oil change lights to come on. Typically, one of these lights might come on if your oil levels are too low. If the oil levels look fine but the check engine light still comes on, then it’s best to go to a service professional.
Smoke comes out of the exhaust
It’s normal for a car’s exhaust to issue translucent vapor while the engine is running, but when you start to see visible smoke, then you may have an oil problem. Sometimes, dark smoke can be an indicator of a serious issue with your car besides just the oil, which is why you should have it inspected immediately.
Engine knocking sound
Oil is meant to keep the engine parts lubricated so that they run smoothly. As your oil becomes old or starts to deplete, the parts in your engine will rub against each other, causing a knocking sound. Don’t ignore any knocking you hear under the hood, or else you can risk serious damage to your engine.
Dirty oil
Fresh, clean oil looks amber and slightly translucent. Over time, the oil in your engine accumulates debris and particles, which can cause it to appear darker and grittier. Check your engine’s dipstick at least once a month to see if your oil appears to be okay. Once you notice it start to turn darker, then you should schedule a service appointment sooner rather than later.

A Preview of the Porsche Taycan
Design
The Taycan was inspired by an earlier concept called the Mission E. Rear-hinged doors provide a first-class experience when stepping in and out of the car. The futuristic cockpit has four lightweight, individual seats which offer excellent lumbar support and spacious accommodations.
Reminiscent of the 918 Spyder and sporting the lines of famous race cars, every facet of the Taycan was created to be aerodynamic. For this reason, the rear-view mirrors were removed and replaced with cameras to provide full yet discreet visibility.
Performance
Able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.5 seconds, and from 0 to 124 mph in less than 12 seconds, the Taycan leaves its competition in the dust. True to Porsche’s reputation of superior handling at high speeds around tight corners and winding roads, the Taycan uses each of the 21” front wheels and 22” back wheels to steer for added stability and precision. Two permanent magnet synchronous motors (PSMs) have a combined output of 600 horsepower.
Safety and Tech
The driver is the top priority in every feature of the Taycan. Sensors in the driver’s seat will cue the five OLED instruments in the panel to follow your movements and ensure the steering wheel doesn’t block vital information while driving.
The standard charging voltage is 800V and can be fully charged in approximately 15 minutes. Fully charged, the Taycan can travel an estimated 250 miles without recharging.

Inside the 2019 Porsche 718 Boxster
Design
The horizontal design of the air intakes lends the front end of the 2019 Porsche 718 Boxster a more confident and biting appearance. This aggressive design is only accented by the side profile, sporting large wheel arches and contoured doors that feed to perfectly positioned air intakes.
When closed, the available cloth roof completes the 718 Boxster’s sensually sleek silhouette. We think you’ll prefer it open, though. For added distinction, this mid-engine roadster also comes standard with Bi-Xenon headlights and integrated daytime running lights up front, and four-point LED brake lights in the rear.
The interior of the Porsche 718 Boxster has always been renowned for being ergonomic, and the 2019 model is no different. It features an ascending center console, intuitive button functionality and location, and a new 3-spoke, multi-functional sport steering wheel.
Performance
Porsche is known for crafting powerful vehicles, and the 2019 Porsche 718 Boxster is no exception. Standard with a 2.0L turbocharged engine capable of delivering 300 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. torque, this roadster delivers a seriously mean drive. Thanks to its available Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) technology, the 718 Boxster can also accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in an astonishing 4.7 seconds, with a top track speed of 170 mph.
You might think that some cars have gotten too quiet, but not the 2019 Porsche 718 Boxster. Standard with all models, this sports car comes with a sport exhaust system to make the 2019 Boxster’s mid-mounted engine roar.
Speed and acceleration aren’t everything, though. The 2019 Porsche 718 Boxster also handles like a dream. Its incorporation of electromagnetic power steering delivers a precise and immediate turning ratio only to be expected from the most elite sports cars. For added responsiveness and an ultra-lightweight feel when driving, the 718 Boxster’s brakes come standard with 4-piston aluminum monobloc fixed calipers.

Inside the 2019 Porsche Panamera
Design
Even the base model of the Panamera looks every bit the part of a supercar. Each trim sports a signature sculpted front-end, low stance, and sportback finish. But Porsche also leaves the door open for leveling up the luxury. The Panamera’s available upgrades include a panoramic sunroof, 20” Panamera Turbo wheels, and LED matrix headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus.
Performance
You can take the Panamera away from the track, but you can’t stop its track-inspired DNA from bleeding through. That’s because even the entry-level Panamera makes 330 horsepower and 331 lb.-ft. of torque with its V6 engine.
But that’s only scratching the surface. When you opt for the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine of the Panamera Turbo, you’ll experience 550 horsepower and 567 lb.-ft. of torque. Throw in available powertrain components like an 8-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung transmission, Porsche Traction Management, and all-wheel drive, and you have a ride that’s never far from the rally road that inspired it.
Technology
Some supercar brands spend all their energy on performance, but that’s not Porsche’s style. That’s why drivers of the Panamera have the choice between a BOSE® Surround Sound System and a Burmester® High-End Surround Sound System. An available Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment system is also in play.
The smartest features are the ones that give you the most peace of mind, and so the Panamera also makes a host of safety amenities available. These include:
- Available Lane Change Assist w/ Turn Assist
- Available Lane Keep Assist w/ Traffic Sign Recognition
- Available Night View
- Available ParkAssist
